What a year it has been! Over 30 concerts, 7 awards from competitions, 6 cathedral services, 3 masterclasses, 3 highly successful sessions of practical exams, 3 academic exams, 1 musical, and 1 tour later, we have come to the end of the academic year and this is our opportunity to celebrate the success of our students. Here are some of our highlights:
These highlights just scratch the surface of the fantastic year that we have enjoyed in the Music Department. It has been a year that has seen the Johnson Sessions really take off, a whole host of Merit and Distinction grades in ABRSM and Trinity exams, the first Singers’ Platform, and the departure of a group of very talented Upper Sixth students. We wish our leavers the very best of luck with what they are going on to do, be that university studies, gap years, or entering the world of work: it has been a pleasure working with you all, and do come back and visit!
We’d also like to take this opportunity to say well done to our GCSE, AS, and A-Level students, who have worked very hard over the past year and should be rewarded with excellent grades. Good luck for August and our fingers are crossed for those all-important university places!
Keep checking for announcements of next year’s concert calendar, including the highly anticipated International Concert Series. We wish everyone a fantastic summer, and we’ll be back with the up-to-date news in September.
