An emotional and joyful evening, the Leavers’ Recital celebrated the musical achievements and talents of our Upper Sixth students. The programme featured some familiar faces and some students who are usually seen as dedicated ensemble performers, and the recital gave all of these students the chance to shine. Saxophone, clarinet, cello, violin, piano, and voice provided a wide selection of repertoire, from Shostakovich and Schubert to Gilbert and Sullivan and folksong. Each and every student did themselves proud with heartfelt performances that showed off their hard work over the past years and months. One of the best aspects of the concert was the huge amount of audience support for each performer, creating one of the best atmospheres of the concert calendar this academic year. It was a pleasure to see each student perform and individually excel in a display of the musical talent that will be much missed next year.
