To round off a highly exciting International Concert Series this academic year, Millfield was delighted to welcome pianist extraordinaire, Joseph Moog, to its Johnson Hall. An acclaimed touring and recording artist, Joseph Moog has accomplished so much in his still relatively short career, and our students and audience got the opportunity to see first-hand what all of his hard work has resulted in. In a programme filled with technical challenges and breath-taking speed, Moog pulled out all the stops in a programme of Haydn, Chopin, Debussy and Liszt. For many, the highlight was the Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody, which Moog himself had arranged. A classic showstopper, his arrangement demonstrated the huge array of ways to write for the piano, while still maintaining the essence of the original Hungarian folk melody. It has been such a pleasure to host Joseph, who provided both our audience and our students with a concert that will not be forgotten any time soon.
